Daylight in. Free electric out.

Premium panels on proper rails, fitted by electricians who were wiring these streets long before solar was fashionable. This page is the honest version of how it works.

What goes on the roof

Good kit, fitted properly.

Cheap panels exist. So do cheap installs. We don't fit either, because we're the ones answering the phone for the next twenty-five years.

Premium panels, proper rails

All-black N-type panels that keep earning in flat grey light, on rails fixed to your rafters, not your tiles. Wired to BS 7671 by the same NICEIC hands that do everything else in the house.

The famous daylight machine

A day through your panels.

Drag the sun across the sky and watch a typical 10-panel West Country roof do its shift. Then try December, because we'd rather you saw that too.

Drag the sun, or scrub the slider. The curve is a typical 4 kW array on a south-ish roof near Bristol, and December is there because honesty is the whole brand.

The Bristol question

Asked at every quote

Yes, even in this weather

Panels run on daylight, not holiday weather. On a grey day they generate with less swagger, but they generate, and the annual maths already assumes a full British year of it: drizzle, fog, that one good week in June.

Your roof, specifically

Every roof tells us something.

Three things decide most of the maths. We check all of them properly at survey, and we say so plainly if the answer is "don't bother".

01

Which way it faces

South is the poster child, but east and west earn honest money too: morning kettle one side, evening telly the other. North alone rarely dances.

02

Shade and chimneys

A shady chimney or a tall neighbour tree matters more than people think. We design the layout around it rather than pretending it isn't there.

03

What's under the tiles

Rails fix to rafters, so we check the timber, the felt and the age of the roof before anything goes up. Solar should never outlive the roof it sits on.

Panel questions, answered straight

Fair questions.

How long do the panels actually last?+

The panels carry a 25-year performance warranty and will likely keep going beyond it, just gently less each decade. The inverter is the part that retires first, usually after 10 to 12 years, and we're around to swap it when it does.

Will you need scaffolding?+

Almost always yes, for the crew's safety and your gutters' dignity. We arrange it, it goes up a day or two before, and it's gone shortly after we are. It's in the quote, never a surprise extra.

What about pigeons?+

Pigeons love the warm gap under panels. If your area has form for it, we fit proper bird-proofing mesh at install time, which is far cheaper than evicting a settled family later.

Is my roof too old for solar?+

Sometimes, and we'll tell you. If the roof only has a few good years left it usually makes sense to sort it first, because taking panels off and on again costs real money. The survey looks at this honestly.

Do I get paid for what I don't use?+

Yes. The MCS certificate we register qualifies you for export payments, and we sort the paperwork as part of the job. A battery usually beats exporting, which is a conversation for the estimate.

See what your roof would do.

Three details in, honest numbers back. If solar doesn't suit your roof, we say so and save everyone a fortnight.
